The act or process of collecting, something collected, an accumulation of objects gathered for study or exhibition, a range of similar products. “Collections are material autobiography, written as we go along and left behind as our monument” (Material Identities by Susan M Pearce).

These works question, depict and make apparent our need to identify ourselves though the objects around us, and make us realise how our illogical desire for order through collecting resonates on many levels dealing with “desire/nostalgia, saving and loss, the urge to erect a permanent and complete system again the destructiveness of time” (The Cultures of Collecting by John Elsner, Roger Cardinal).

I am inspired by private/personal collections and interested in ideas surrounding re-presenting existing collections and the construction of fictional collections.
